While our studio focuses on social dancing we do still participate in some dance competition training. We do one competition each year that is hosted by World Promotions. It greatly improves one’s technique and learning skills, thus developing more fun for the social floor. We do it for the fun and the excitement and the way it improves our overall dancing!

A customized group class is a 3 to 6 week course that is designed exclusively for a specific group. Such groups can be customized for a company and their employees, church groups, school groups, singles groups, and so on. Such classes are quite popular and are always enjoyed. Note that we will also do this as a one-time workshop.

In a semi-private lesson, a student can experience the ideal balance between private instruction and group class learning. A semi-private lesson is an instructor working with 2 to 3 dance couples. Like a group class, a semi-private lesson is taught in a course with a specific agenda of dances, variations and outcomes. Like a private lesson, each student receives individual attention and recommendations for learning better.

After that, cost of private lessons varies, depending upon your frequency of lessons. They range in price from $59 to $69 a lesson. The price is the same whether it’s an individual or a couple.

An introductory lesson gives the student a chance to try out a lesson and get a feel for the instructor. It is important that you feel comfortable with the instructor’s personality, as well as his/her approach to teaching. Everyone learns differently. We offer this Introductory Private lesson for $25.

A private dance lesson consists of a single student or dance couple and an instructor. It is a great way to go about learning to dance. First of all, you will progress much faster because you are working one-on-one with a professional instructor. Personalized instruction means that the teaching will be adapted to suit your particular style of learning.

In group class instruction you experience learning to dance within a group of students, often trading partners among them. The quality of group class instruction is as varied as the group class offerings themselves. Here are some things to consider when choosing a group class program.

Tejano dance styles include Cumbia and Polka. These partner dances are a lively part of the Tejano music and dance tradition.

Country dances such as Texas Two Step, Triple 2, Country One Step, Country Waltz, Swing, Polka, and NiteClub are taught. These partner dances draw from a variety of country music genres.

Latin dance styles include Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, Mambo, Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, and Bolero. These are vibrant partner dances often accompanied by diverse musical rhythms.

Traditional Ballroom encompasses styles like Fox Trot, Waltz, Swing, Tango, West Coast Swing, Hustle, and NiteClub. These partner dances are expressed through the process of lead and follow.

We play a variety of music – country, Latin, swing, smooth, Tejano, ballroom PLUS party dances!!! Casual attire.

Take advantage of this beginner level class and learn and/or re-learn all the basic foot patterns PLUS how to build your lead and follow skills.

Variations & Styling. This is a great class for those just getting started. These 2 dances are SO MUCH FUN – especially here in South Texas!

You know, you just can’t go wrong with Swing dancing! We will work on lots of variations and how to lead and follow them. We will use a variety of music and styling.

What a great dance for your romantic music! This dance will take you through those really nice slow songs that you would otherwise just sit out.
