About Cache Valley Civic Ballet-School

Cache Valley Civic Ballet-School, located in Logan, Utah, has been the official training ground for the Cache Valley Civic Ballet-Company since 1986, fostering a deep appreciation for classical ballet. Dedicated to nurturing the art of dance, the school offers comprehensive instruction in Ballet for dancers of all ages and proficiency levels, from toddlers to advanced students and adults. Our curriculum is structured around three semesters annually, with classes ranging from Toddler Ballet and Pre-Ballet through Level 10. Specialized classes in Turns, Jumps, and Variations are available for intermediate and advanced dancers. Students can enroll for Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions, with classes primarily held at The Whittier Community Center and satellite studio classes at The Studio. The Cache Valley Civic Ballet-Company itself comprises approximately 50 auditioned dancers, with separate Junior and Senior companies. Public auditions are held for productions like "The Nutcracker," offering community participation. The school welcomes serious ballet students from all training backgrounds and encourages auditions for the CVCB.

GREEN

Cache Valley Civic Ballet–School equivalent of Levels 7, 8, 9 & 10 (Advanced Technique, Advanced Pointe). Must have completed Level 7 Ballet to register for this level.

PURPLE

Cache Valley Civic Ballet–School equivalent of incoming Level 5 (current Level 4 students)(Intermediate Technique, Beginning Pointe). Must have completed Level 4 Ballet and advanced to Level 5 for Fall 2025 to register for this level. This level is for beginner pointe. Please register for this class if you are advancing onto Pointe for the fall semester. If you have already completed a full year of Pointe, please register for the Orange level.

Drop-In Classes - Pilates

Drop-In Classes are for dancers who are not able to register for a full semester may use our Drop-In Classes as an option for taking ballet classes. This option is only available in our: Level 6-10, Teen/Adult, and Pilates classes. We recommend registering and paying for those classes ahead of time so the administrator can notify the instructor you are coming. Please do not come with cash , our instructors take payments in class.

Turns, Jumps, and Variations Class

The Turns, Jumps, and Variations Classes is a one-hour class. This class is open to all intermediate and advanced ballet dancers (Level 6-10). Dancers who are taking a technique class with the Cache Valley Civic Ballet-School will be offered a 50% discount for this class. They will learn technique in addition to a variation for their own personal development. Variations have many uses for students from auditions for Summer Intensives, to competitions like YAGP - where dancers can compete and receive scholarships to many different ballet programs around the world. They will also work on different turn and jumping combinations to help improve those areas for their technique classes.

Pilates for Dancers

Pilates exercises help both men and women of all ages, especially dancers. The benefits of Pilates can include building core strength and stability, improved posture, alignment, increased flexibility, balance, muscle endurance and tone, helps prevent injuries, heightened body awareness, and can relieve stress and back pain. This is the perfect complement to any dancers training.

Teen & Adults Intermediate/Advanced Ballet

We offer Teen/Adult class in both beginning and intermediate/advanced ballet classes. Teen & Adults Classes are for teens and adults to learn and participate in ballet. Level 2 - 10

Level 2 - 10, age 9+ for new students we recommend coming in for an assessment to find the level that best fits the dancers needs. Students are monitored and assessed each semester for next level readiness. Advancements from those assessments happen at the beginning of our school year, in our Fall Semester. Student in levels 1-8 are also tested in ballet terminology and complete a written exam each year during the Spring Semester.

Pre-Ballet 4

Pre-Ballet 4, age 7 and turning 8 during the school year. Pre-Ballet 2 through Level 4 classes have been extended an additional 15 minutes to develop performance skills appropriate for their individual levels and to focus on upcoming performance preparation.

Pre-Ballet 3, age 6 and turning 7 during the school year.

Pre-Ballet 1

Toddler Ballet

Toddler Ballet, ages 3 and turning 4 throughout the school year. Dancer must be 3 years old and potty trained prior to the start of the semester.

Contemporary Master Class with Marissa Niederhauser

Additional training through master classes with master instructors throughout the country. Marissa Rae Niederhauser a former CVCB alum, got her BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA and went on to Perform, Choreograph and continue her studies in Seattle, NYC, Melbourne and Berlin.

MINI-INTENSIVE

"Ballet Foundations" class for beginners. Recommended for ages 7-10, with minimal ballet experience. Geared toward the younger dancer wanting to learn and develop a strong foundation in ballet technique. Barre and center floor will be taught, as well as various stretching and strengthening exercises. This portion of the intensive will leave your dancer feeling strong and confident while broadening their dance education.

Audition Prep Classes

Take special prep classes before CVCB Auditions. These classes are specially designed to help dancers prepare for ballet auditions, including CVCB Company auditions and public cast auditions. The workshop will focus on technique, presentation, and what to expect at an audition with a goal of helping dancers enter any audition with added confidence!

Summer Intensive

Improve your ballet technique and expand your dance education this summer with a 10-Day Summer Intensive presented by the Cache Valley Civic Ballet. The Cache Valley Civic Ballet (CVCB) is excited to provide a unique integration of technique and artistry. Whether dancers are looking for pre-professional training or hoping to broaden their scope of experience, we aim to provide a welcoming environment where students are able to study under a diverse, experienced, and qualified group of instructors. Resident instructors and guest artists teaching Summer Intensive classes are highly qualified with a collaborative goal to inspire students of all ages and abilities.
