HEART of Dance Studio, nestled in Rutland, Vermont, is dedicated to fostering a love for dance and artistic expression in a fun, supportive, and nurturing environment. Serving dancers of all ages, from three years old to adults, and across all skill levels, our mission is to empower students to build confidence and believe in their abilities. Led by Director & Instructor Kayla Thomas, who brings over 22 years of personal dance experience and 10 years of teaching expertise, including extensive local performances and master classes in New York City, HEART of Dance offers a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. We are also proud to have Bjorn Behrendt, an experienced tumbling instructor of over 10 years, as our Acro teacher and technical advisor, contributing his expertise in this dynamic style, as well as music editing and studio technical support. HEART of Dance emphasizes teaching foundational techniques and essential skills for dancers to progress and grow, providing instruction in various dance disciplines. While specific styles are not exhaustively detailed, the studio's name suggests a focus on the expressive and heartfelt nature of dance. The studio is committed to community involvement, as demonstrated by a recent program where a $100 participation fee contributed to Justin Thomas memorial park renovations. Classes commenced on January 12th, taking place every Thursday from 5-6 pm at the Courcelle building, with young dancers showcasing their hard work in a recital on May 27th.
