Lynchburg Tribal, based in Lynchburg, Virginia, is a vibrant studio dedicated to the art of Belly Dance and Middle Eastern Musical arts. We are a welcoming community fostering a space for strong, witty women to connect and celebrate their inner beauty, honoring all styles of belly dance rooted in the rich heritage of the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Asia. While currently not offering in-person classes, Lynchburg Tribal emphasizes the profound benefits of Bellydance for the body, mind, and spirit. Our philosophy highlights diverse instruction, encouraging dancers to learn from various teachers, and cultivates a strong bond among fellow dancers. Lynchburg Tribal provides a holistic approach to Bellydance, viewing it as more than a physical activity but a path to self-discovery and empowerment. We celebrate this captivating art form through classes, workshops, and performances, drawing inspiration from historical influences and contemporary interpretations. The studio is committed to supporting and hosting events that benefit Bellydance-related organizations and provides resources for all levels, including beginner class notes and music recommendations. We highlight local instructors and troupes, including Nancy McAndrew of Lynchburg Tribal, Karen Castanes, Madame Onca & World Spirit Bellydance, Fire in the Belly, Khalima, and Ajna Tribal. Lynchburg Tribal also facilitates performance opportunities through their Kaleidoscope Showcase and assists with booking for external performances, showcasing an active role in the local dance community.
