Passport to Dance

Passport to Dance is a unique class for children to experience Social Studies in a creative and hands-on way. Each week, students will learn about a new country or festival through cultural dance, stories, music, instruments, and traditional dress! Each student will get their passport stamped at the end of each class from that day's travels! Traditional Folkdances are an important part of most cultures around the world. In this class, students learn fun, simple folkdances as well as how the culture, history, and lifestyle of the people are reflected in the traditional clothing, stories, and dances.

Passport to Dance

Passport to Dance is a unique class for children to experience Social Studies in a creative and hands-on way. Each week, students will learn about a new country or festival through cultural dance, stories, music, instruments, and traditional dress! Each student will get their passport stamped at the end of each class from that day's travels! Traditional Folkdances are an important part of most cultures around the world. In this class, students learn fun, simple folkdances as well as how the culture, history, and lifestyle of the people are reflected in the traditional clothing, stories, and dances. Each week a new country will be represented based on festivals and celebrations happening in that part of the world during that time of year, September-May. Each student will receive a "Passport" which will get stamped weekly from the country of focus! Folkdances are a great way to experience history and celebrate the cultures of the world! HOMESCHOOLERS: Meets criteria to satisfy credits for Social Studies and Physical Education. History, Geography, Foreign Language, and Music will also be covered.

Storybook Theatre

In this creative drama class, favorite children's stories and fairytales come to life through theatre games, creative movement, improvisation, and story play. Costumes, props, and music help encourage children's imagination. Fairytale Theatre is a non-performance focused program that introduces children to the magic of stories, movement and theatre. Each week a new story is presented as inspiration for creativity!

Fairytales & Tutus

A Fairytale Ballet class incorporating ballet instruction, children's stories, enchanting costumes, exciting props, and the magic of make-believe! During our classes, ballet basics are experienced while pointing toes as a princess or balancing as a flamingo. Coordination and balance are enhanced while leaping through the forest as a deer. Gracefulness blossoms while fluttering as a fairy. Students will also learn ballet terminology, spatial awareness, musicality, and classroom etiquette while also gaining social skills and self-confidence. Each week, a new story will come to life with new costumes, new choreography, and plenty of imagination to give your child the magical experience of dancing into the fairytale…boys are absolutely welcome and have coordinating costumes! Fairytales and Tutus is a non-performance class where each week a new story is presented as inspiration for learning ballet in a fun and creative way without the pressure of performance at this age.

Tiny Tutus (with Parent or Caregiver)

This creative dance class is full of music & movement, basic ballet steps, nursery rhymes, instruments, stories, simple costumes, & colorful dancing props. Parents/caregivers are actively engaged with their child as we sing, sway, bounce & march together to fun and exciting music!
