About West Sound Dance Academy

West Sound Dance Academy, located in Silverdale, Washington, provides a comprehensive dance education for students of all ages. Our curriculum encompasses a diverse array of disciplines including Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theater, and Barre. We are committed to placing each student in the most appropriate class based on their age, ability, and prior training, ensuring a tailored and enriching learning experience. Our esteemed faculty includes experienced instructors such as Camille Higashi, Studio Director and Artistic Director of Dance Arts Theatre, who specializes in Modern/Contemporary and Ballet. We also have long-time educator Irene Miller, founder of Irene's School of Dance and Dance Arts Theatre, who continues to share her passion, notably through her adult tap class. Other valued instructors include Kelley Hayes, Tosha Camus, Jessica Campbell, Lindsay Clark, Annie Reitz, Darla Balbarona, Aeryn Maxey, Sam Blocher, Evee Bell, Susie Slater, and Bella Campbell. West Sound Dance Academy fosters a strong sense of community, with many instructors having deep roots in the local dance scene, including through the Dance Arts Theatre company. Students have opportunities to develop skills and express themselves creatively across a variety of classes. We offer evening and Saturday classes for family convenience and students can showcase their progress in informal holiday programs and a June recital. Classes

Dance Arts Theatre

Dance Arts Theatre is a performing dance company, by audition only, for the serious more advanced ballet dancer, 10 years and older. Visit their website for announcements and information. For more information on audition times and locations

Dance Arts Theatre members do not pay WSDA for company classes. Those fees are paid directly to Dance Arts Theatre. Students participating in the June recital will also have a costume fee which will need to be paid in February.
