Classes

Tap Class

Contemporary Dance

Theatrical dancing that employs all dance forms ballet, jazz and modern in spectacular new ways. Through the movement of the dancer, a story unfolds an is interpreted by the music. Let your creative juices flow and enhance your dancing skills with the freedom of contemporary dance. Modern Dance techniques of Graham, Horton, Ailey, Taylor and many more great choreographers are taught and explored. (open level contemporary must be at least 10 years of age)

Adult Ballet

Adult Ballet classes include barre, center floor, stretching, adagio and allegro work. If you don’t know what these terms mean then not to worry, we will teach you. Whether brand new or an experienced dancer this is the adult class for you.

Partnering

Experience dancing with fellow students. Apply the techniques of jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, and ballroom with your partner.

Jazz Dance

Jazz is an upbeat rhythmic dance style and has many forms! Different styles of jazz are explored including Broadway, Fosse, Latin Rhythm, Lyrical, Street, Hip Hop and Funk. Jazz Technique, isolations, turns, leaps, and combinations from the basic to the complex are explored. Each level has a syllabus. Students must show proficiency at each level before advancement to the next level.

Pointe

Classical Ballet Pointe is the dream of every ballet dancer who trains for many years to achieve the grace, coordination, hard work and discipline it takes to be able to balance and dance on pointe. Isabelle follows the The Perfect Pointe System by Lisa Howell to prepare her students for the rigors of pointe dancing. The pointe class is by teacher recommendation only. (Ages 12 and up)

Classical Ballet

Teaches grace, coordination and discipline. From Basic Ballet to Advance Ballet the fundamentals of ballet are stressed to allow for a safe advancement. Each level has a syllabus. students must show proficiency at each level before advancement to the next level. We offer Basic Ballet, Basic Intermediate Ballet, Intermediate Ballet One, Intermediate Ballet Two and Advanced Ballet. Intermediate Ballet meets twice a week. Advanced Ballet meets twice a week.

Pre-Ballet 1 & 2

Introduce your young dancer to the world of ballet. Watch them spread their wings as they learn poise and rhythm. Enjoy the dance stories they learn. Pre-Ballet engages children through the use of their imagination while learning proper ballet terms, correct body placement and gross motor skills: skips, gallops, marching, leaping and balancing.

Modern and Contemporary dance

She went on to minor in dance at SUNY Geneseo, focusing on modern and contemporary dance, and continued choreographing and performing throughout college. After college, she became a certified personal trainer, but her heart remained with dance. Now back in the studio, Brittney is excited to share her love of dance with the next generation.

Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Pointe

After moving to New York, she studied at Dance Cavise with Broadway dancer Joe Anthony Cavise, learning ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and pointe, and performed as an original member of the Off Center Jr. Dance Theatre.

Tap/Ballet combo

Brittney Smith’s passion for dance began at just two and a half years old in a tap/ballet combo class. By age five, she was competing in tap and soon expanded her training to jazz, modern, and lyrical.

Jessica has experience teaching a variety of dance styles, including Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Musical Theater, Leap and Turn Technique, and Creative Movement. She adores sharing her passion by teaching the next generation of upcoming dancers.

Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Clogging, Acrobatic Arts, and Theater

She has trained in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Clogging, Acrobatic Arts, and Theater throughout her dance education. Jessica also danced with the State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara for seven years in their touring production of The Nutcracker, as well as at their Summer Intensive in 2020. She has taken classes from many notable dancers, teachers, and choreographers, including Peter Boal of Pacific Northwest Ballet, Kathryn Morgan (New York City Ballet, Miami Ballet), and Christopher Sellars (Ballet West).

Tap

As a Tap instructor my mission is to teach my students the same love and passion I have for dance while learning basics and progressing into their own exploration of their own beats, rhythms, and sound.

Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Partnering

At the age of 15 she found her new dance home at Isabelle’s Dance Time under the instruction of Isabelle Cook and Joe Hofer. She studied jazz, and then added modern, ballet, and partnering to her regimen of classes. Her journey lead her to expand studies with people like Billy Siegenfeld, Jeannie Hill, Gail Benedict, Frank Chaves, and Katherine Kramer just to name a few. She dabbled in just about every kind of dance style imaginable.

Tap and Jazz

Erica Hendon started her journey in dance at the age of 3 years old learning tap and jazz dance. As the years went on she kept up with tap and jazz at Sherry’s Studio where she learned discipline and showmanship through the avenue of competition. At the age of 15 she found her new dance home at Isabelle’s Dance Time under the instruction of Isabelle Cook and Joe Hofer.

Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Ballet, Partnering, and Tap

Joe Hofer’s dance style is on-beat, intense, funky, jazzy, old school cool with hints of humor. “To dance with me is to be passionate, spirited and be proud of what you are doing.” Originally a musician, he gravitated towards square and round dancing in the late 1980’s, eventually becoming an apprentice Square Dance Caller. In 1991 he studied Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Ballet, Partnering, and Tap and continued formalizing his Ballet, Modern, & Jazz training with Isabelle Cook and other world class teachers.

Discover the Wonderful World of Ballet

Discover the Wonderful World of Ballet at Isabelle’s Dance Time is a 8 week session This is a fun and educational class. Your little dancer will learn basic ballet and creative movement through dance, music, concepts and storytelling Here at Isabelle’s Dance Time, it’s not about WHAT we teach to our early childhood dance students, but HOW we teach it. We approach dance education through the exploration of the concepts of dance. Because of this, we are able to teach ANY and ALL styles of dance. We do this by centering our lesson plans around 11 concepts of dance. By focusing on the essence of movement FIRST, we build a solid foundation for the skills and movements needed to progress our specialized dance skills IN ANY STYLE OF DANCE.
