The Mid-Ohio Valley Ballet Company (MOVB), nestled in Parkersburg, West Virginia, is a distinguished institution dedicated to the art of dance and comprehensive arts education. Established in 1983, MOVB offers a vibrant performance season and fosters a love for dance and the performing arts in students aged 9 through adult. While boasting a strong foundation in classical ballet, the company also embraces and trains in jazz and modern dance. Students benefit from specialized training, including pointe work, partnering, drama for dancers, and musical theater, often within small class sizes that ensure personal attention and a positive learning atmosphere. MOVB's commitment to enriching the community is evident through its renowned "School Days Performing Arts Series," which inspires hundreds of school children annually with literature-based ballet performances across West Virginia and surrounding states. Annually, MOVB captivates audiences with cherished productions like "The Nutcracker" and the "Spring Ballet."
