About Madison Ballet

Madison Ballet, located in Madison, Wisconsin, is a distinguished institution dedicated to comprehensive dance education and world-class performances. Since its establishment in 2005, Madison Ballet has evolved into Wisconsin's second-largest dance organization and the official training institute for the Overture Center's resident ballet company. Classes

Open Division classes

Open Division classes, also called Drop-In classes, provide young adult and mature adult dancers with flexible ballet classes for all experience levels, while maintaining the level of excellence that is the hallmark of the School of Madison Ballet. Ballet 101 offers a progressive four-class program for dancers with little to no experience in ballet.

Trainee Program

The Trainee Program offers advanced, rigorous programming focused on preparing each student for a career as a professional dancer. Students train daily to master advanced technical skills, consistency, musicality, articulation and natural expression within the technical parameters of the art form.

School Division

The School Division offers differentiated levels of well-coordinated, progressive curriculum in strong, classical technique. Students follow a structured sequence of training stages designed to increase their technical skills, stamina, and discipline in accordance with their age and physical development.

Children's Division

Creative Movement teaches rhythm and coordination through a variety of engaging movement exercises. The curriculum is carefully designed to gently introduce these students to a structured and safe classroom environment, while instilling in them the confidence to imagine and explore. Creative play enhances the development of fine and gross motor skills as children leap, stretch, coordinate, isolate, and move to music. Social skills are developed through activities that reward collaboration and cooperation. Children must be at least 4 years old on or before their first day of enrollment.
