Open Classes

Drop in open ballet classes run all summer. These classes are a great way to stay in shape and work around busy summer schedules.

Boy's Class

For beginner through pre-professional. Focused on learning the steps and building the strength required to achieve the jumps and turns of the male ballet vocabulary as well as core technique. Minimum age is 8. Class consists of one 75 minute class per week. Included for all registered CMB dancers, also available as a stand alone class. No prior ballet experience necessary. Registration may be done on a month by month basis.

Pre-Professional Division

Highly focused, intensive training for the student with professional aspirations. This program requires a significant time commitment and will offer the most performance opportunities. The Pre-Professional Division will be exposed to a wide variety of guest and resident faculty as well as different dance forms to enhance their skill development. Placement is by audition only. Students in this division must participate in scheduled performances. The minimum hourly commitment is 16 hours per week, which includes rehearsal time.

Levels 1, 2, & 3

Serious training for the student who wants to achieve their highest potential. Pre-pointe and pointe are introduced at this level. Standard students will have the opportunity to experience a variety of dance forms in addition to ballet technique. They will have the chance to train with guest faculty and will be eligible to be cast in performances. The minimum hourly time commitment per week is 6.5 hours.

Junior 2

Intended for dancers who have completed the material in Junior Level 1. Minimum age is 9. Junior Level 2 consists of two 90 minute technique classes per week. Dancers at this level are encouraged to take one additional class per week in the Junior Level 1 class. Some dancers in this level may be invited to take the pre-pointe class, for a total of three classes per week. Musicality and pantomime/acting skills are developed through incorporating the study of 2 classical ballet stories each year.

Junior 1

Intended for dancers who have completed the material in the Beginner Level and have knowledge and experience with basic ballet terminology, structure, and technique. Minimum age is 8. Junior Level 1 consists of two 75 minute technique classes per week. Musicality and pantomime/acting skills are developed through the incorporating the study of 2 classical ballet stories each year.

Beginner Division

Intended for dancers who have little to no ballet experience. Minimum age is 8. Beginner consists of one 75 minute technique class per week. Terminology, placement, and ballet etiquette are developed in this level. This class begins in January and runs through May.

Boy's Class

With an option to sign up for just a few classes, this class is a perfect way to try ballet! A class designed to learn the skills and build the strength needed for men's ballet work as well as core technique. No prior ballet experience required. No long-term commitment required.

Pilates Drop In Class

We also offer a drop in Pilates class! What is Pilates? Held in our "H" studio located above Trio Ramen. Ages 11+. Pilates is open to all registered Standard and Pre-Pro students for no additional tuition or registration. Non-CMB students must purchase their class online prior to the start of class. Only those who have purchased their class or are a currently registered student may attend. There will be no payment option available at the studio. Class purchases are non-refundable. CMB has limited mats available for use and are used first come first served, attendees are welcome to bring their own mat if desired.

Designed to allow intermediate students to continue their training over the summer with the flexibility needed for vacations. Running for eight weeks, pick the ones best for you! (6 week minimum) A pre-pointe class follows for those who are working towards pointe in the fall.

Intro Class

A great way to learn a new skill over the summer and prepare for possibly moving forward with your dancing at CMB. Running for eight weeks, you can select which weeks work for your busy summer schedule (5 week minimum). Learn the foundational terminology, positions, and movements upon which all of ballet is built while developing strength and flexibility.

Workshops

Intensives

For the intermediate and advanced dancer who is looking for an opportunity to push their technique forward in a fun and supportive environment. These classes are designed to see noticeable improvements in skills and strength. The curriculum includes ballet technique, pointe, pre-pointe, Pilates, conditioning, jazz and more taught by CMB's resident faculty. Each day consists of 4 technique classes, totaling 6 hours of instruction for a full day registration. The styles vary by week.

Beyond Ballet Camp

With classes in ballet, jazz, modern, and more, this camp is an excellent way to try a dance form you have not done before while perfecting your technique. There is an in-studio show on the final day to show off your new skills.
