Under the guidance of experienced instructors like Mary Deeken and Assistant Director Jenna Magruder, dancers receive comprehensive training. Jenna Magruder, who holds a BA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, brings a wealth of experience, having trained in jazz, tap, ballet, modern, musical theatre, and hip-hop, and has choreographed extensively for competitive teams and professional organizations. Sparklers Dance Teams fosters a supportive environment where students can develop their skills in a variety of genres including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, musical theater, and hip hop. Programs cater to various age groups, including Tinys (K-2nd graders), Minis (1st-3rd graders), Youth (4th-6th graders), and Junior (6th-8th graders). The curriculum includes strong training in Hip Hop, with intermediate and advanced work in leaps, turns, and tricks for older groups. The Junior program also offers optional Contemporary and Lyrical classes. Sparklers Dance Teams fosters a competitive spirit, with teams participating in various competitions throughout the year, including the State Fair, Watertown, Madison, and Brookfield events, with opportunities to qualify for Midwest Finals. Classes

TINYS PROGRAM

Emphasis on pom and hip hop dance, beginning work with leaps, turns and body awareness. They compete at State Fair in August, Watertown in December, Madison in January and Brookfield in February. Opportunities to do solos, duets and small group dances. Parade performance in July. Auditions are in March but sometimes there are other opportunities midyear. Teams are set in March but exceptions will be made depending on team size and dancer experience.

YOUTH PROGRAM

Continued growth with pom and hip hop dance, intermediate work with leaps and a variety of turns and tricks. They compete at State Fair in August, Watertown in December, Madison in January and Brookfield in February. Opportunities to do solos, duets and small group dances. Parade performance in July. Junior workshop in November. Tryouts are in mid-March. Teams are set in March but exceptions will be made depending on team size and dancer experience.

Practice on Thursdays during the school year and Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day in the summer.
MINIS PROGRAM

JUNIOR PRORGRAM

Elevated levels of dance including a variety of turns, jumps, tricks, etc. Pom elements achieved through strength training and precise movement. Professionally choreographed Hip Hop Routine. Optional contemporary, lyrical or jazz is $150 extra. This team attends a 4 day/3 night dance camp at Carroll College and qualifies for Midwest Finals in Schaumburg, IL in August. Additionally, they compete at State Fair in August, Watertown in December, Madison in January and Brookfield in February. Opportunities to do solos, duets and small group dances. Parade performance in July. Junior workshop in November. Tryouts are in mid-March. Teams are set in March but exceptions will be made depending on team size and dancer experience.
