Master Ballet classes
Master Ballet classes will be taught by TWO different guest instructors; Natalia Magnicaballi and Randy Pacheco. RMDT is proud to have Prima Ballerina and former Principal Dancer with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet (The Kennedy Center) and Ballet Arizona Natalia Magnicaballi return to teach Ballet Master Classes and for the first time, Soloist Randy Pacheco from Ballet Arizona will also be joining us as a guest ballet instructor.

Intermediate and Advanced Dance Intensives
Concentrated time for dancers to perfect different techniques which may include ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, and/or choreography. Participants also learn about other aspects of dance such as dance history, terminology, and current affairs.
Tweens & Teens Dance Methods Class for Beginners
NEW this year is a Tweens & Teens Dance Methods Class for Beginners ages 11+. Registration is open, space is limited and minimum enrollment is required.

Individualized ballet instruction tailored to the dancer's specific needs and goals. These private lessons are designed to accelerate progress and refine technique with personalized feedback.
2025 RMDT Advanced Intensive Academy 4B +
RMSA Academy 4B + Academy dancers are eligible and strongly encouraged to participate in Summer Advance Intensive which is a program of RMDT's Summer Outreach. This intensive provides advanced training, conditioning, and master classes for serious dancers.
DANCE classes
All studio DANCE classrooms will be equipped with live-streaming capabilities. If your child cannot attend DANCE classes or rehearsals due to these guidelines, they will be expected to join class through live streaming. We will soon be equipped with live streaming capabilities in each dance studio. We strongly suggest preparing for on-line classes now by setting up live streaming capabilities at home.

TWO great nights of dance entertainment brought to you by all our RMSA students and RMDT's Spring Company. Both nights feature tap, hip hop, jazz, contemporary ballet, musical theatre, modern, and contemporary dance styles set to great music and lighting. This is definitely not a "spring recital" but a professional live performance that will keep all ages entertained!

During these classes, they learn skills in "up and coming" dance forms and new steps in the styles they are already studying which keeps our dancers’ training current and competitive.
Dance Classes
Participants gain pre-professional experience by taking three to four, 1.5 hour dance classes a day from world-renowned teachers, trainers, and professionals in several of the world’s top dance training facilities.

Ballet
Traditional dance classes, especially ballet, are used to train technique and foundation, not to learn dances. Great dance training requires both classwork and repertory work. RMDT’s Spring Company provides dancers with this opportunity.
Spring Company
RMDT’s Spring Company an avenue for dancers who wish to excel their dance training and the art of performing. Beginning in January, this elite group of dancers dedicate themselves to the study of dance and to the training necessary to excel. Spring Company's repertory is more difficult than regular dance class and it is purposeful in its intent to propel students to the next level.

Nonprofit, RMDT’s Annual Production of The Nutcracker offers members of the community, of all ages, an opportunity to participate in and contribute to a classical theatre experience, at the same time providing education in ballet and theatre techniques, academic knowledge, self-discipline, self-confidence, and artistic expression.
Adult Classes
Clothing should be easy to move in but not too baggy. Ballet females can wear dance leotards, chiffon ballet skirts, garbage bag shorts/pants, and pink or black tights. Ballet males can wear a plain white t-shirt with black pants. Correct shoes are required for each style; color does not matter, but traditionally pink are female and black are male for ballet, and flat-black, lace-up for adult tap.
Tweens & Teens Dance Method’s Class for Beginners
Proper dance shoes are required for all styles. Females need pink ballet flats, nude jazz shoes, non-marking tennis shoes, bare feet or black socks for contemporary. Males need black ballet flats with black socks, black jazz shoes, non-marking tennis shoes, bare feet or black socks for contemporary. Attire for females includes pink adaptatoe tights, black dance leotard, and chiffon dance skirts or dance garbage bag shorts. All hair must be pulled back into a secure bun. Males need a plain white t-shirt and solid color black pants/shorts/male dance tights.
Ac 5 – Advance Contemporary
Students can dance barefoot or in solid black socks. Solid black leggings with a solid black tight-fitting tank/t-shirt, or RMSA/RMDT t-shirt are required. No sweatpants or baggy clothing. Hair must be pulled back into a secure ponytail or bun.
Ac 5 – Advance Hip Hop
Dancers need jazz sneakers or tennis shoes with non-marking flat soles and no lights. Loose clothing that allows for free movement is recommended, or dance clothing worn for jazz class.
Ac 5- Adv Jazz and Tap
Girls require nude jazz shoes, nude character shoes, and black tap shoes. Ballet attire or black leggings with a black tight solid color tank top/t-shirt or RMSA/RMDT t-shirt are acceptable. Hair must be pulled back securely. Boys need a plain white or black or RMSA/RMDT t-shirt, black sweatpants/shorts/tights, black tap shoes, and black jazz shoes.
Ac 5-Adv Ballet
Girls require pink ballet and pointe shoes, pink or black ballet tights (no nude), and a solid color dance specific leotard. Hair must be pulled back in a bun. Optional items include dance shorts or pants, a chiffon ballet skirt, a dance sweater, or RMDT Sp Co Jacket. Boys need a plain white t-shirt, black sweatpants/shorts/tights, and black or white ballet shoes with thin white socks.
ACADEMY SUMMER DANCE
Due to the variety of summer dance classes held back-to-back, dancers should wear appropriate ballet attire for all sessions. Convertible/adaptatoe tights or black tights are suitable for students also taking jazz, musical theatre, tap, hip hop, and contemporary. Ballet skirts can be removed for jazz, hip hop, and contemporary, and dance shorts can be worn during these. Any color dance leotard and ballet skirts are permitted for all ages and levels during summer dance.
Academy 3+ Contemporary
Students can dance barefoot or in black socks. Convertible/adaptatoe tights are recommended. Ballet attire or solid black leggings with a solid black, tight-fitting tank/t-shirt, or RMSA/RMDT black t-shirt are acceptable. Females need all hair pulled back into a secure ponytail or bun.
Academy 1-4b Hip Hop
Dancers need non-marking jazz sneakers or tennis shoes with flat soles and no lights. Hip Hop class is a dual discipline class with Jazz, so Jazz attire should be worn. Females need all hair pulled back into a secure ponytail or bun.
Academy 1-4b Jazz
Girls require nude jazz shoes and Ac 4 and 4b will also need Character shoes. Ballet attire or solid black leggings with a solid black tight tank top/t-shirt or RMSA/RMDT t-shirt are acceptable. Pink or black tights are permitted. Hair must be pulled back securely. Boys need a plain white or black or RMSA/RMDT t-shirt, black sweatpants/shorts/tights, and black jazz shoes.
Academy 1 – 4b Tap
Girls aged Ac 1-4 require nude tap shoes, while Ac 4b+ need black tap shoes. Ballet attire is acceptable, or solid black leggings with a solid black tight tank top/t-shirt/RMSA t-shirt. Pink or black tights are permitted. Hair must be pulled back securely. Boys need a plain white or black or RMSA/RMDT t-shirt, black sweatpants/shorts/tights, and black tap shoes.
Academy 3-4b Ballet
Girls need pink ballet shoes, pink footed ballet tights (adaptatoe/convertible allowed), a black solid color dance leotard, and hair in secure buns. Optional items include a black dance skirt or dance shorts. Boys require a plain white t-shirt, black sweatpants/shorts/tights, and black or white ballet shoes with thin white socks.
Academy 1-2B Ballet
Girls require pink ballet shoes, pink footed ballet tights (no nude/tan), a black or light pink dance leotard (no gymnastics/ice skating leotards), and hair in secure buns. Optional items include a black or light pink ballet skirt or dance shorts. Boys need a plain white t-shirt, black sweatpants/shorts/tights, and black or white ballet shoes with thin white socks.
Early Childhood Classes
Attire requirements for young dancers include pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, a solid light pink or black dance leotard, pink footed dance tights, and hair pulled back into a secure bun. Optional items include a black or light pink ballet specific chiffon or mesh skirt, and a black or light pink dance sweater. Boys require a plain white t-shirt, black sweatpants/shorts/tights, black ballet shoes, and black tap shoes. Accessories like jewelry and tiaras are not allowed.
Advance Academy
Advance Academy is offered by audition only. Please contact the studio to set up a meeting time if you are interested in registering for classes of this level. Unlimited Class package is available. RMSA in cooperation with Cody High School Activities Department, has developed an Independent Provider Extra Curricular Lettering Program for dance which is an option for RMSA's Cody High School dancers. Intermediate-Advance dance classes no longer perform individual CLASS dances in our Masterpieces of Ballet or Spring Production. All performing opportunities at this level are granted through RMDT Spring Company. Auditions for Spring Company are held in January. Academy Jazz students have 2 performances during the holiday season (costumes provided). Dancers are required to audition for Rocky Mountain Dance Theatre’s Spring Company and Rocky Mountain Dance Theatre’s annual Nutcracker Production. Attendance in Summer Dance and Summer Intensives are required at the Intermediate-Advance and Advance level. Dancers 13 years + have the option to attend RMDT’s New York Dance Experience every other year.
Academy 5B
Academy 5B is offered by audition only. Please contact the studio to set up a meeting time if you are interested in registering for classes of this level. Unlimited Class package is available.
Academy 4
Academy 4 is designed for students 11 years and older with 6-8 years of dance experience. Each dancer is evaluated individually for Academy 4, as these guidelines differ for each student. This is typically the level females receive pointe shoes if they have reached the technical level and age required. This Academy program offers students five dance disciplines: Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Tap. It is strongly recommended but not mandatory that students do participate in all five classes as the training is well-rounded and provides the student with the foundation needed to move into the intermediate-advanced placement classes. Although student’s class choices can be customized, it is required that students participate in the majority of classes offered. Unlimited Class package is available.
Academy 3B
This Academy is designed for 4th to 6th grade intermediate dancers, with 5-7 years of dance training recommended (differs for each student). This Academy program offers students five different dance disciplines: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. Jazz & Hip Hop are combined into the same class for this level. It is strongly recommended but not mandatory that students do participate in all five as the training is well-rounded and provides the student with the foundation needed to move into the advanced placement classes. Ballet training is highly recommended to help build a dance foundation. Unlimited Class package is available at this level.
Academy 3
This Academy is designed for 3rd to 5th grade intermediate dancers, with 4-6 years of dance training recommended (differs for each student). This Academy program offers students five different dance disciplines: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. Jazz & Hip Hop are combined into the same class for this level. It is strongly recommended but not mandatory that students do participate in all five as the training is well-rounded and provides the student with the foundation needed to move into the advanced placement classes. Ballet training is highly recommended to help build a dance foundation. Unlimited Class package is available at this level.
Academy 2B
Academy 2B is designed for 2nd -4th grade intermediate dancers, with 3-4 years of dance training recommended (differs for each student). Students spend approximately two -three years in Academy 2B. The Academy program offers students four different dance disciplines: ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. Jazz & Hip Hop are combined into 1 class for this level. It is recommended that students do participate in all three classes/4 disciplines as the training is well-rounded and provides the student with the opportunity to see which styles suite their abilities. Ballet training is highly recommended to help build a dance foundation. All 3 classes/four disciplines are offered at a discounted rate.
Academy 2
Academy 2 is designed for 2nd or 3rd grade intermediate dancers, with 3 years of dance training recommended (differs for each student). The Academy program offers students four different dance disciplines: ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. Jazz & Hip Hop are combined into 1 class for this level. It is recommended that students do participate in all three classes/4 disciplines as the training is well-rounded and provides the student with the opportunity to see which styles suite their abilities. RMDT Spring Company
Dance entertainment by RMDT Spring Company with special appearance by RMSA Academy Dancers as RMDT Spring Company will take on RMSA Academies 1-3b in a night of dance challenges, unique pointe shoe raffle, and $1 & $5 raffles for kids and adults.
Summer Beginner Pointe
Only for those who have received their pointe letter at Clash of the Academies Night and will be enrolled/registered internally; MUST register for Summer Ballet and Summer Intermediate Intensives. This class introduces the fundamentals of pointe work.
Summer Contemporary
Designed for intermediate dancers ages 9-11 with 3-6 years of dance experience. This class explores fluid movement, expressive qualities, and creative choreography in contemporary dance.
Summer Contemporary
For the serious dancer only, acceptance based on physical and mental knowledge, and technical foundation. Students must be at least 14 years or older with five years of ballet training. A trial class is required before registration. This class delves into modern contemporary movement, improvisation, and choreographic exploration.
Summer Ballet
Designed for intermediate dancers ages 9-11 with 3-6 years of dance experience. This class focuses on refining classical ballet technique, alignment, and artistry.
Tween & Teen Dance Methods Class for Beginners
This class is for beginners who have never danced or haven't danced in several years. It is a 1.5 hour class one time a week, covering 4 disciplines (ballet, jazz, hip hop & contemporary), in sessions. Our methods dance class is great option for students who need more technique and foundation before enrolling into our Academy levels or even for those who are not sure about which dance styles they want to learn. Classes will provide quality introduction and foundational training in these 4 dance disciplines for anyone 11 years old and older. No previous dance experience required, no performances expected at this time.
Adult Ballet; Beginner Basics Session
This session will be for those who have no ballet background and have never taken a ballet class in their life OR if you'd like a refresher on the basics of ballet before enrolling into our regular Adult Ballet Session. These classes will focus on the basics of ballet terms and technique starting from the very beginning, preparing you for the regular adult ballet session. You can take this session as often as you wish. Please understand these classes are progressive and missing a class is not ideal.
Adult Ballet - Thursday's
For those with a basic understanding of ballet or revisiting ballet as an Adult. Each class will focus on alignment, foundation of technique, vocabulary, and movement quality. Follows a standard ballet class format; learning combinations at the barre, center, and across the floor.
Masterpieces of Ballet
A full-length professional ballet production, produced at an equivalent level to RMDT's Christmas Nutcracker, but focusing on segments of or entire classical ballet stories. The variations and choreography performed by our soloists is the same that was danced by the original ballet production and as it is by professional ballet companies still today! The Masterpieces of Ballet is performed by our RMSA Academy 1 and up Ballet students and our RMDT Spring Company.
Summer Tap
For the serious dancer only, acceptance based on physical and mental knowledge, and technical foundation. Students must be at least 14 years or older with five years of ballet training. A trial class is required before registration. This class focuses on advanced tap techniques, intricate rhythms, and performance quality.

A trial class is required before registration. This class explores acting, singing, and dancing for musical theatre productions.
Summer Tap
Designed for 2nd-4th grade intermediate dancers, with 2-4 years of dance training recommended. This class builds on tap skills with more complex rhythms and footwork.

For beginning dancers who just completed our Early Childhood Age 5 or going into 1st grade or 2nd grade. This class focuses on foundational ballet techniques suitable for young students.

Early Childhood 3/4 year olds
RMSA’s 3/4 year old dance class is a fun, all-around introduction to dance for 3-4 year olds. Must be potty trained and at least 3 years old by September of 2025. Children in this class develop loco-motor skills, learn rhythm, and how to behave in a structured dance class environment. Includes tap/rhythm and ballet/creative movement.
Early Childhood 5 year old's
RMSA's 5 year old dance class is a fun, engaging class where children ages 5-6 are introduced to patterns in dance and music, simple ballet sequences, and dance vocabulary. Must be 5 years old by September 2025. Includes ballet/creative movement and tap/rhythm.
Adult Tap - Beginner Basics Session
This session will be for those who have no tap background and have never taken a tap class in their life OR if you'd like a refresher on the basics of tap before enrolling into our regular Adult Tap Session. The class will focus on tap terms and basic tap steps, preparing you for the regular adult tap session. You can take this session as often as you wish. Please understand these classes are progressive and missing a class is not ideal.

A class for those with a basic understanding of tap or revisiting tap as an Adult. This general class will focus on developing all the elements of tap dance. This includes movement, vocabulary, musicality (rhythm, timing & phrasing). The last part of class, students will learn steps to a dance which will build onto each week.

Courses
NEW! Tween & Teen Beginners
At RMSA, we believe everyone can discover the joy of dance. RMSA’s Tween & Teen Dance Methods Class is for beginners who have never danced or haven't danced in a few years. This is a NEW class being offered that will be one 1.5 class a week, covering 4 disciplines (ballet, jazz, hip hop & contemporary), over 10 weeks. Our methods dance class is great option for students who need more technique and foundation before enrolling into our Academy program or for those who are not sure about which dance styles they want to learn. Classes will provide quality introduction and foundational training in these 4 dance disciplines for anyone 11 years old and older. No previous dance experience required and no performances expected at this time.

Boy's Dance Workshop
The Boy's Dance Workshop is open for boys 6 years and older; boys with limited dance experience welcome. In addition to teaching Master Ballet classes during intensives, Pacheco will be teaching RMDT's first ever Boy's Dance Workshop.
Intermediate and Advanced Dance Intensives
These intensives provide a concentrated time for dancers to perfect different techniques which may include ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, and/or choreography. Participants also learn about other aspects of dance such as dance history, terminology, and current affairs.

2025 Ac 3 & 3b RMDT Intermediate Dance Intensive
Academy 3 & 3b students are now old enough to participate in our Summer Intermediate Intensive which is a program of RMDT's Summer Outreach. This intensive offers advanced training and master classes for intermediate dancers.
Early Childhood SUMMER DANCE
This summer program for Early Childhood Dance focuses solely on ballet. Dancers will need ballet shoes along with their regular dance attire. This class is designed for young children to engage in ballet instruction during the summer months.
