Dancing is one of the best ways to keep your brain young because it combines new learning with exercise, social contact and fun. This class meets once per week where students can learn basic and intermediate clogging skills an techniques. Through clogging, they will also learn other essential skills that can be applied to all genres of dance, like musicality and endurance. This class is a fun way to learn the art and history of clogging and also learn to connect to different music and sounds.

Children from ages 13+ years old have the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of ballet. In addition to providing a solid basic ballet foundation, more Intermediate/Advanced level movements and terminology are introduced in this curriculum. Students who demonstrate the physical and mental readiness, are considered for pointe shoes. It is encouraged to attend all three classes, but not required. Students wear a red leotard.

Musical Theater Dance

This class offers students the chance to experience a variety of the performing arts. Students will get to act, sing, and of course dance! Musical Theater is jazz-based and filled with Broadway style dancing and music. This class incorporates the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions. Little Feet, Big Steps offers students a fun way to step into the spotlight.

Lyrical dance borrows from ballet, jazz, and many modern dance techniques of the 20th century. Lyrical encourages dancers to be versatile in their expressions, being able to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotion. It focuses on spacial and body awareness, use of body weight, floor work, leaps, turns, efficiency of muscle usage, and safe body alignment.

This class will assist you with the correct way to increase your flexibility safely. Stretching your muscles and joints leads to great range of motion, improved balance and increased flexibility. Strength and Conditioning aims to improve technique and overall performance. Dancers can avoid injury by having proper strength and flexibility. Conditioning is all about learning how the body acts and react to energy and force.
