Kansas City Ballet - Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity

At KC Ballet School, we believe dance is for everyone, including teens and adults with little or no dance experience. The class schedule is flexible and you can take as many classes as your schedule allows. Enjoy the fun and fitness of dance! Our drop-in classes meet weekly and you can attend any or all of the classes that suit your interests or level of ability.

KC Ballet Adaptive Dance programs offer creative movement and ballet classes in an open and supportive environment for children and adults. Younger students will experience rhythmic activities guided by our team to stimulate fine and gross motor skills and speech and language development, as well as sensory, visual and auditory processing skills. Teens and adults will experience a traditional ballet class in an open and supportive environment.

Adult classes offer teens and adults with little or no dance experience the fun and fitness of dance. Classes include Ballet, Pilates, Jazz, Yoga, BeMoved, and DANCEFIX.

Classes for kids 2-19 include creative movement, pre-ballet, intermediate, and advanced, and is a comprehensive approach based on the traditions of classical ballet and prepares students for the widest spectrum of opportunities within the artistic community and professional dance world.

The Professional Division includes KCB II and the Trainee Program, known as Kansas City Ballet's Second Company. Our program provides talented young dancers a professional company experience as a prelude to their becoming a professional dancer.

The School’s Open Division attracts teens and adults who wish to pursue recreational dance instruction in a supportive and encouraging setting. The Open Division offers classes that are open to teens and adults with all levels of experience.

The School offers a complete, professional curriculum for our Academy students. With locations in downtown Kansas City and Johnson County, the School maintains a faculty of over 50 instructors.

Our five-week program offers students a highly concentrated curriculum at Kansas City Ballet’s award-winning facility, the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity. Kansas City Ballet artistic staff and school faculty combine with renowned guest teachers to create one of the best summer intensive offerings in the country.
