Dance Arts Academy

The DAA Teaching Assistant Program for any interested enrolled student age 13 and older. The magic of the performing arts is something we are very passionate about. We believe areas of this business can be excellent career options for those students who find a passion for it.

This 45-minute class builds on the basics of ballet and tap. Dancers will explore and learn more difficult, age-appropriate dance steps, combinations, and progressions. Both styles of dance are incorporated into this one class. Together, we explore: Proper alignment for stretches and warmups. Ballet terminology and ballet steps, both in French (the language of ballet), and English, with an introduction to basic alignment. Tap terminology and beginner tap steps. Teamwork!

This 30-minute class is perfect for our youngest dancers. Together, we will learn basic ballet steps, how to follow directions and the importance of teamwork! Skills we explore are: How to warm up and stretch. Skipping, jumping, leaping, turning. Commonly used ballet terms in French and English, like plié (to bend), tendu (to stretch), passé (to pass through), and chassé (chasing step). Moving and dancing to music!

For those students interested in improving their Ballet technique and exploring Pre-Pointe and Pointe. This is a Ballet intensive program and experience in Ballet is required.

For the youngest dancers to explore the world of dance! This is an opportunity to get their first experience with artistic movement and summer camp together! Each session will have a different fun and interactive theme. Each dancer will receive a Summer T-shirt and get to perform in a small showcase at the end of the session.

Adults @ The Academy classes are fusion-style classes incorporating ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip hop, yoga, and ballroom. With a fall and a spring session, dancers will have the opportunity to perform in both the winter and spring studio shows, respectively.

A one-week camp experience for dancers ages 10-14. We will explore all genres of dance over the course of the week with a showcase performance on the last day!

A classic FULL DAY CAMP for kids 6 to 11 in the Lake Sunapee Region. Each week will be jam packed with creative activities, classes, field trips, and beach days! Each camper will also receive a Summer T-shirt!
