Dance is more than just a physical activity - it's an art form that allows you to express yourself in ways you never thought possible. At Massey School of Dance, Inc, we help you discover your passion for dance and unleash your inner dancer.

This is a great opportunity to introduce your little one to the world of dance! This class allows children and adults to begin interacting with others and to expose little ones to new friends! We learn mobility, coordination skills, motor and non-motor movements, sounds and rhythms! This is a great beginner class for children ages 18 months - 2 1/2 years old.

Our Competition teams are chosen by audition process in the Spring. Members are comprised of three to four levels and separated into age and skill level. These dancers take summer classes as well, to keep training and to begin numbers for competition.

We have three competitive troupes, one clogging team, and our very own MSD Hip Hop Crew which range from age 5 - 18. These are audition-based groups. The troupe is designed for dancers who want to take the next step in their dance training. It is comprised of dedicated, serious and devoted dancers who attend extra classes during the year.

This Class is for the dancer looking to strengthen their technique, stamina, endurance, and strength. This class meets once a week and focuses on technical skills such as leaps and turns, in addition to cardio, strength, and conditioning. This class is recommended for dancers aged 11+.

Hip Hop is a fun class for boys and girls. It uses the upbeat songs of today with a mixture of street and freestyle moves. Its freestyle moves and dynamic music, make this a very popular class!

This Class is full of energy! Filled with flips, somersaults, cartwheels, tucks, handstands, and handsprings! This class will also work on flexibility and strength!

Clogging is a style of dance with fast footwork! This class is full of fun and energy and incorporates the traditional with the modern! Lots of fun for all!

For our more advanced Ballet students, we offer Pointe classes which must be taken in addition to the two Ballet classes per week. Dancers will be evaluated by our Ballet teachers, on an individual basis, and considered for Pointe Shoes when they are strong enough and physically and mentally ready for this big step.

A combination of Jazz, Ballet & Self-Expression - Students will use technique and their own artistry to grow and become creative dancers in class and in their choreography. Ballet is strongly encouraged for this class.

Jazz classes are offered for students at the age of 6 to 7 years old, dependent on previous training. Jazz is a fast-paced, style focusing on flexibility, leaps, turns and moving across the floor. Our jazz dancers are strongly encouraged to attend Ballet classes.

Classes are based on the Al Gilbert graded Technique Course with rhythmic, street dance combinations added for older, more advanced dancers. Students will learn correct terminology, steps, and musicality while improving their coordination. Second semester, training is applied and transformed into routines for our spring production.

Ballet is a great foundation for many dance styles. It utilizes technique, grace, poise, focus, and discipline which will enhance dancers in all styles. Classes are offered beginning at the age of 5, in combination with Tap. Young children are started with age-appropriate technique skills in addition to rhythmic and coordination development.

Little Dancers are taught rhythms, counting with music, sharing with other children and coordination skills. The Massey School of Dance offers an excellent Pre-school program in Pre-Tap and Pre-Ballet.
