Sigel's School of Dance, located in Altoona, Pennsylvania, has been a cornerstone of dance education since its establishment in 1939 by professional dancer William C. Sigel and his wife Rosalie. With a rich history spanning over eight decades, the studio cultivates a passion for movement and a legacy of excellence. Sigel's offers a comprehensive dance education across a diverse range of disciplines, including foundational Ballet (with a specialization in Cecchetti Ballet), energetic Hip Hop, expressive Contemporary, rhythmic Tap, dynamic Jazz, and the exciting physical artistry of Acrobatics. Partnered movement is explored through dedicated Ballroom instruction. The studio also provides a platform for advanced dancers with the official home of the Altoona Dance Company. Under the artistic direction of Miss Mindy, who has extensive professional performance experience, and with faculty including seasoned instructors like Miss Nancy and Laura Oswald (a former Sigel's student with a Dance Studies minor from Penn State Altoona), and accomplished alumna Lynzi Vandevander (a competitive Hip Hop choreographer with multiple National Championship titles, who also teaches Hip Hop Fitness), Sigel's faculty is experienced and dedicated. Students have achieved significant success, including a 1st place overall award and best choreography recognition at Dance Masters of Pennsylvania. Sigel's has a proven track record of nurturing talent, with numerous students receiving scholarships to prestigious institutions and many pursuing professional careers in film, television, Broadway, and more. The studio is proud to be a member of esteemed organizations such as Actor Equity Association, Dance Masters of America, and the Cecchetti Council of America.
