Pilates for Better Bone Health
Pilates is excellent for those diagnosed with Osteoporosis, Osteopenia, and those wanting to be proactive with their bone health. Because the Pilates reformer workout uses spring resistance and provides support, Pilates is a great choice for women seeking to strengthen their bones. Pilates also offers a no and low impact workout to protect the skeleton.
Pilates for Better Breathing
While Pilates is predominantly known for core strengthening and flexibility, studies have also indicated that Pilates improves respiratory endurance, lung volumes and, inspiratory and expiratory flow rates. ‘Breath’ is one of the foundation principles in the Pilates method and is known as the ‘engine’ behind Pilates.
Pilates for Back Pain & Promoting a Healthy Spine
Disc Injuries, Spinal issues, and alignment problems can affect all areas of life, not to mention pain issues, especially lower back pain. In fact, research shows about 80% of people have complained about having low-back pain at least once in their life. By focusing on core stabilization and precise, controlled movements, Pilates offers a gentle practice for rehabilitation and restoration.
Pilates for Athletes and Cross-training
Pilates is the ideal workout for cross training. Whether you are an elite athlete, a dancer, or fitness buff who wants to stay at the top of their game, Pilates is the best choice to get there.
